Asset accounting and reporting

Asset operations can create accounting vouchers and affect depreciation reports. Finance should review the accounting outcome as well as the asset register.

  1. Confirm the acquisition date, cost and relevant accounting setup before posting an acquisition.
  2. Review the depreciation period and calculation before posting depreciation.
  3. For a disposal, confirm the date, proceeds and approval; inspect the generated accounting impact.
  4. Use the asset register and reporting views to reconcile opening values, movements, depreciation and closing values.
  5. Investigate mismatches before closing the period. Preserve the audit history when cancelling or correcting a transaction.

Reports depend on the selected school, dates, posting status and filters. Do not compare a draft operational list with a posted accounting total without checking those selections.
